FaceBook and “Freebies for Women” – Blog Post 2
Facebook and Twitter seem to be number one in helping
companies market their products. It is hard to find a company that does not
have a Facebook or Twitter account. Even churches, schools, universities and outreach
programs utilize these social media. YouTube is very big for them also, especially
for videos. Everyone wants you to “Like” their page.
There is an Ad that I see on “Facebook” constantly and I
would look at the number of” likes and comments” they have and think how far
back does this go. How long has it taken them to attain those numbers? But when
I consider the company and the product it may not take long to get the numbers.
“Freebies for Women” they are advertising that they are
giving away Nike gym shoes, jackets, and other products etc. I am not always on Facebook but for a time
every time I went on one or a few of my friends was ”liking” “Freebies for
Women” I almost went to the page but time constraints as usual compelled me not
to.
I like free stuff but it usually requires more time and
information than I would want to spend or give out there. I don’t have any
problem with their marketing strategy, in fact, I think it is good. But for me
I am leery of giving my information on websites that I am not sure of. I’ve tried different sites before and get
discourage by the questions they want you to answer. TMI, and there always seem
to be layers of questions. You may want to get that 500.00 gift card from Wal-Mart
by taking a survey but be prepared to spend hours and possibly more hours
answering questions. And what if your computer shuts down or has a glitch, then
what? It’s just not worth it unless that’s all you have to do.
I'm with you. Who doesn't like free stuff, but when it is such a pain and you know that they are going to make you sign up for services that when you forget to cancel them a charge is coming on your credit card. Technology is supposed to make things easier and save time and money, not waste it.
