I am toying with the idea of creating an event planning business and I was recently on Wix.com trying to create a website. Wix.com is a cloud-based web development platform where you can create your website. When I went on to the site, the first thing I saw was a campaign by Heidi Klum and actor Rex Lee. This campaign follows Heidi Klum seeking her next business venture.
Why I connected to this was because this campaign has a Twitter contest going on that said:
Complete and share this tweet:
We’re giving away tons of iPad Airs, GoPros and snazzy Bose headphones!
Excited yet? Just Tweet to win!
Of course, this caught my eye and I immediately created a catchy name and shared my tweet! How great is this? This is especially good for someone trying to start a business. The campaign is aimed to encourage fan engagement through made-for-web creatives, social media activation and exclusive content for YouTube, Facebook and Twitter all using the company's #ItsThatEasy hashtag. This campaign is a continuation of a previous campaign, the #ItsThatEasy Super Bowl campaign that featured 5 NFL greats transitioning from football stars to small business owners.
This is a great example of the pros of social media. There's so much you can do to leverage your goals and dreams using this platform. For me personally, it showed me how Wix makes it easy to create a web presence, even for the busiest of people. Let's just say that I've spent most of my day today working on my event planning website on Wix. Thanks Heidi!!! :-)

Your post is very interesting. I've never heard of WIX.com but I really like the idea. It looks like a good place to create your own event planning company web site. You could take several videos of your events and post them to your web page like Heidi did. The video caught my attention.

Your post intrigued me so I checked out WIX.com and started playing around with building a website for my real estate management business that I am working on. It is really easy to use and I am pretty sure I will use it. The only thing is I am not sure of yet is if I need a separate web page or if a Facebook page would be enough.
